Consumer Forum

To strengthen consumer participation in WSS issues, NWASCO instituted a roving consumer forum to be held in each Province. The purpose of the forum is to sensitize the public on their rights and obligations with regards to water supply and sanitation provision and service level guarantees. Further, the forum provides a platform to consumers to enable them give feedback on the quality of services, as well as present complaints.

So far, Consumer Forums have been held in Kabwe, Central Province and Solwezi, North Western Province.

World Water Day

World Water Dayhas been observed on 22 March since 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared 22 March as "World Day for Water". The UN and its member nations devote this day to implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete activities within their countries regarding the world's water resources.

NWASCO joins other stakeholders in commemorating this day. Consumer are welcome to participate in the day’s activities that typically include marching, exhibitions, drama and various entertainment and awareness programmes.

World Toilet Day

In 2001, the World Toilet Organization declared its founding day, 19 November, as World Toilet Day. Since then, 19 November has been observed globally by its member organisations. In September 2009, a new website was launched dedicated to the celebration of World Toilet Day.
