Lusaka 28th September, 2024- The National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO) has been awarded the Most Advanced in Sanitation Regulation by the Eastern and Southern Africa Water and Sanitation Regulators Association (ESAWAS).
The award which recognizes NWASCO for its leadership in sanitation regulation was presented during the 3rd Africa Water Supply and Sanitation Conference which was held from 24th to 26th September 2024 in Blantyre, Malawi.
This year’s conference, themed "Adaptive regulation - addressing emergent issues," brought together water and sanitation institutions from across Africa, along with cooperating partners and stakeholders, to share knowledge and strengthen regulatory frameworks.
It is the first time that ESAWAS has honoured regulators for their performance and contributions to the sector.
